Our SCHOOL PRESIDENT

Singapore School Cebu was founded by Trixie S. Suarez, who likewise sits as School President of SSC. She graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. From 1997-2005, she worked in Great South Investment, handling fund management duties for Philippine Opportunities Fund in Makati City. In 2005, she returned to her hometown Cebu and opened Gymboree, the global leader in early childhood educational programmes. Since 2005, hundreds of children have gone under her tutelage. In 2008, she heeded to the clamour from a growing number of Parents to bring to Cebu an international school that can continue the job of providing top quality education that Gymboree has started. In 2009, Ms. Suarez partnered with Singapore School Manila to bring the Singaporean curriculum and global educational standards to Cebu.


Our TEACHERS

SSC is composed of young, talented, passionate and energetic Teachers and professionals, most of who are from the Philippines but have had experience teaching abroad. SSC is an institution that invests heavily in Teacher training which shall mostly be conducted in Cebu, Manila and/or Singapore. Our Teachers are likewise fully supported with world-class learning tools that enable them to be more effective in their teaching endeavors.

Our ADVISORY BOARD

Father Ernesto O. Javier, S.J. was the School President of Sacred Heart School-Jesuit, now referred to as SHS – Ateneo de Cebu, for 18 years. He retired from the post at the end of School Year 2009-2010. Prior to that, from 1976-1990, he was likewise the head of Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro. He received his Masters Degree in Education from Harvard University and likewise his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Under Father Javier's decades of school directorship and spiritual guidance, he has moulded countless lives to become positive contributors to society today. 

Analei A. Atienza is the Founder and Managing Director of Singapore School Manila. She graduated from St. Scholastica's College in Manila with a degree in Business Management. From 1997-2004, she ran a successful garments business that brought her to live in Bangkok, Thailand. The mother of 2 enrolled her children in the Singapore International School there, and upon return to Manila, was told that her son and daughter were performing superbly in Maths and Science. With the Singaporean curriculum not yet popular in the Philippines, this realisation led her to eventually open Singapore School Manila by School Year 2006-2007. 

George Y. Sycip is an advisor for a variety of companies in their cross-border endeavours between the US/Europe, Asia and Africa and serves on the Corporate Boards of numerous companies in the US, Philippines, China and Singapore. He is also a Trustee or Director of the International Institute for Rural Reconstruction, Give2Asia, Global Heritage Fund and the California – Asia Business Council, and serves on the Advisory Board of Stanford University's Institute for International Studies. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelors degree in International Relations / Economics from Stanford University. 

Rose Siow is a Singaporean with extensive experience in investment banking in the South East Asian market for over 15 years. She worked for one of the largest Asian-based investment banking group before setting up her own consultancy in Singapore. She continues to provide advisory work to a select group of clients throughout South East Asia. She has advised her clients in diverse industries ranging from industrial gas, oil, food and condiment manufacturing, airline operations to bio-diesel, amongst others. Ms. Siow graduated with First Class Honors in Management Science, major in Accounting from the University of Manchester and won the Arthur Andersen Book Prize for academic excellence. 

Up until Primary 4, Ms. Siow had homeschooled her 2 children, who have then moved on to attending prestigious Singapore schools.  Aside from being active in her children’s schooling and development, Ms. Siow also helped set up a charity, Sanctuary House (www.sanctuaryhouse.com.sg) which rescues and looks after abandoned babies/young children.

Stephanie A. Dela Cruz is a Creative Director, Art Director and Visual Artist by profession with extensive credentials in the field of publishing and advertising. A painting graduate of the University of the Philippines Cebu, she went on to acquire continuing education in Graphic Design at Parsons School of Design and Film Techniques & Technology at the New York University. Ms. Dela Cruz is considered a co-Founder of SSC, having personally referred Singapore School Manila to Ms. Suarez.
