From Ms. Myrra Enriquez (SSC School Administrator & Head of Admissions), chaperone to 15 SSCians who competed in the recent WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP Global Round in Bangkok, Thailand.
Amidst a sea of 2,000 participants, my primary role as chaperone and caretaker of our SSCians was something I held close to heart. After a full week in Bangkok, I’m relieved we’ve all returned safely, but I also witnessed incredible transformations throughout the journey. The dedication and hard work of all 15 pupils (Alex, Bella, Yuri, Erin, Gavin, Kai, CJ, Anika, Blake, Thomas, Paolo, Joaquin, Nathan, Narciso and Jack), which I saw firsthand during both their preparation and the event itself, were nothing short of inspiring. The schedule in Bangkok was grueling, yet our SSC Warriors rose to the challenge.
There’s no greater feeling than watching them leap for joy each time they were called on stage to receive their medals and trophy, filling our hearts with pride. But this journey was not without its emotional highs and lows—tears of both relief and frustration were shed along the way.
So, with this post, we celebrate not only these remarkable achievements but also the extraordinary growth, transformation, and the strong friendships and support networks that blossomed along the way. After all, isn’t that what school and education are truly about?
Way to go, SSCians! I can’t wait for the next World Scholar’s Cup, with even more SSCians joining this incredible experience!
