As I sit in my classes at an Ivy League school, my growth nurtured at SSC is pivotal to my journey. I studied at Singapore School Cebu for 13 years and proudly call it my second home. I spent six years at SSC, starting in Secondary 1. The school provides a wide variety of programs and events to always bring something exciting for the students, teachers, and staff. The school not only prioritizes academics but also the accumulation of various experiences. Thus, students take part in activities that allow them explore their interests, engage with the community, and foster creativity. I still remember the Goodwill Games, an annual sportsfest where the level (or should I say fever) of participation and teamwork is truly exceptional! The foundation I built at SSC, particularly through the IGCSE and IB programs, continues to support my academic journey today. The research and critical thinking skills I developed are essential in my current studies at Seoul National University. But beyond academics, the most rewarding aspect of my experience at SSC was the strong community. With a small class size, I formed meaningful bonds with my classmates, whom I still keep in touch with today.

My son and daughter were both students at SSC for four years before we moved abroad. They entered the school having previously studied at another school in Cebu. SSC is a friendly school based around the principles of a family where both academia and social development are taken very seriously. The school offers in my opinion a very rounded education with a carefully curated balance of study, personal development and activities to prepare children for the future. Both of my children were very happy there and we all miss the drive and passion of the management and staff, who always aim high and do everything with a heart. Having experienced other schools both in Cebu and in other countries; if Singapore School Cebu was on my doorstep where we now live, I would enrol both my children there again within a heartbeat. Sadly they don’t yet have a branch here in the UK.

Any formation requires a sturdy foundation. The foundation that my children have received at SSC is playing an immense role in their current life. SSC has helped them build confidence with public speaking exercises and debates. I can see the exceptionable progress they had before joining SSC and now. All the credit goes to the SSC staff. The support, guidance and encouragement have helped both my daughters become more successful in their school and community. After joining SSC for three school years, my daughters Krutika and Disha have had many accomplishments in school, such as writing books, learning Mandarin and preparing multiple presentations. All these activities have made them substantial and modest. Our daughters are now determined to make their own decisions and accept responsibility for success as well as failure. SSC is truly one of the best school for our children. T. Trixie, the School President, is a role model for them, always steady as a rock but forever with a sweet smile. My name is Shion Iimura. Currently I reside in Japan and I am in my final year of high school. I moved to Cebu in 2015 and attended SSC for three years. I was excited for this experience as I wanted to learn English and expand my understanding of another country’s culture. One of the highlights of my time at SSC was my involvement in the W.I.S.E.S. (Walking In Someone Else’s Shoes) program. In this program, we visited the developing area of Umapad. It was the first time for me to visit a developing area. I was shocked that so many children were living in such squalid conditions compared to my childhood in Japan. Before visiting Umapad, my dream was to create my own company and work around the world. However, my involvement in the W.I.S.E.S. program changed my mind. Other people need help to live a happy and healthy life. For this reason I am aiming to study medicine at university. Once I complete my degree, I want to help small children and people in need.

TRICK OR TREAT! It's what children often say come Halloween. We know what the TREAT means, but have you ever wondered what the TRICK is all about?
Last 30 October, our PRESCHOOLERS got the chance to discover just that! Dressed in their favourite costumes, they lined up outside the School President's office, eager to find out what Tita Trixie had in store for them.
Prior to their visit, their Class Advisers had explained that a trick could mean something funny. So, when asked which of the items being offered was a little different and, yes, funny, the children were quick to identify the CARROT! 🥕 Tita Trixie was particularly impressed when some of them shared that carrots are rich in Vitamin A and that eating them is good for their eyes!

❤️ Your blood could be someone’s second chance at life. Thus... Project Red Thread, a pupil-led CAS Project. Read about the pupils' testimonials in making this happen but in the end - they successfully gathered 33 blood donors, collecting 30 bags of blood in support of its advocacy, “Donate Blood, Save Lives.”
The attending doctor shared that one bag of blood could help up to three people. He also expressed how unique and inspiring the initiative was, as he did not expect such a meaningful blood drive to be led by high school pupils.
With the support of Sub-National Blood Center - Visayas (SNBC-V), we salute how our SSCians turned compassion into action through teamwork and generosity, helping meet the need for blood and making a difference in others’ lives.

We're out of the classroom again! This time, our Primary 6 pupils visited the recent Tops ArtFest last 22 October 2026 to explore and appreciate local artworks from across the country. 🎨

What do we do when kids are curious WHY CEBU IS HAVING BROWNOUTS? We go outside the classroom! This past Tuesday, 20 Oct - our Primary 5 cohort headed to the Visayan Electric Company (VECO), learning about what electricity is and the process by which it reaches our homes and school. And yes, they got their answer about the reasons behind the rotational brownouts, thanks to the knowledgeable VECO engineers.
This Beyond Classroom Learning activity was actually prompted by P5's Global Perspectives class where our SSCians hone their research and analysis skills, learning to ask the right questions and examine information carefully.

Who says the fun is only for the kids? This time, it’s our Parents’ turn to play, connect, and shine!
At SSC, we’re always looking for ways to keep our activities fresh, meaningful, and engaging for our community. And this time, we thought it was only fitting to give our Parents their very own edition!
For the first time, our Goodwill Games Parents’ Edition brought SSC Parents together for some friendly competition, shared laughter, and team spirit. But we made sure to provide an essential: opportunity to get to know one another, build new friendships and strengthen the bonds that make our SSC community special.
With two preliminary rounds completed, the excitement is far from over! One final round awaits next week, and the big question remains: Who will emerge as champion of the first ever SSC Goodwill Games Parents' Edition? Will Team SG hold on to the lead, or will Team PH or Team UK stage a comeback?
